Below is a run down of listings from jungle huts to traditional architecture in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. Most of these wouldn’t be ideal long term, but for a short stay they can give you a different perspective of the area or just a little eye candy during your holiday.

This is the only listing that I have personally stayed in during my trip to Chiang Mai. I was drawn to the unique building design and great reviews. The hosts were incredibly helpful and lovely, and I will stay there again if I find myself in the area.

This building, in traditional Lanna style architecture, is located near the Old City Walls, and is very close to the Saturday markets and city’s attractions. It even has a lovely garden and pool to escape Thailand’s heat.
THE HUT BY SABU-SABU
$95/Night, No minimum
Located outside Chiang Mai city in Maerim, these lovely bamboo huts will give you an escape from the tourist areas, and has great views of neighboring rice fields. Unfortunately, it's pricier than some of the other budget options in the area, but the views may be worth the higher pricetag.
TREE HOUSE HIDEAWAY
$101/Night, No MINIMUM
Overlooking the Chiang Dao Mountains in a remote village this lodging is truly an escape from the city. The price includes a trek to a local waterfall and all meals while at the tree house. The view from the terrace would definitely make the simple rooms and basic amenities worth it!
VIVA CHIANG MAI
$35/Night, 2 night minimum
The best of both worlds, this property is peaceful and relaxing but still close to the city center. The facility has yoga, massage, cooking classes, and a library to ensure you enjoy your time in lovely Chiang Mai.
