The spring and summer music festival scene is in full swing. Some of the big shows have come and gone, but I am still seeing lots of fringe, paisley, and crochet on the interwebs. Since a crop top and knee-high gladiators aren’t in my future, I wanted to put together a living room with the bohemian clad festival goer in mind.
I pulled just a few fashion pieces as inspiration for the imaginary space. These selections have a relaxed and laid back feel, but are still sophisticated and stylish. Since I love to play with contrasting elements it was fun to recreate this dynamic in a room.
A bohemian inspired design is all about layers, and in this space I wanted the textiles and finishes to feel curated and specific. A space for a grown up hippie. The hammered and pierced metals help to add a little glam to an otherwise subdued palette.
The corner chair brings the right amount of interest to the space, and it reminds me of distressed denim. Some of the accents have a little pink in them, which isn’t usually my go to color, but I like it paired with the dusty teal. I threw in a Mongolian lamb pouf, because it is the perfect funky texture, and every room needs a little fur. To recreate this look, just add any purchase from Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters, stir, and mix.
I know a few people who could live happily in this room surround by their friends. Spending evenings listening to vinyl without a care in the world. Hopefully, I would get invited to this pretend get together, and if I know me, casually back out at the last minute and stay home to binge watch Netflix originals.
I hope most of you are heading out into the sunshine to actually attend a festival, but I‘ll have to be satisfied with others Facebook photos and online window-shopping.
